GameTime Playground Part of Award-Winning Recreation Project in New Jersey

GameTime, a leading manufacturer of commercial playground equipment, is proud to announce the Regatta Children’s Playground was named part of New Jersey’s Best Recreation Complex by the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association (NJRPA).

The nautical-themed playground was designed by MRC, GameTime’s exclusive representative in New Jersey, and Landmark Design, the custom play division of GameTime. The playground has two separate play areas; one for children ages 2–5 and the other for children ages 5–12. Both areas feature play structures that look like ships, the larger of which includes towering decorative sails that extend more than 20 feet above the playground. The sails serve as a visually-striking centerpiece to the playground design and inspire imaginations as children embark on their own play adventure below. The recycled rubber play surface is designed to look like the open sea, and there are plenty of spinning, climbing and musical activities around the perimeter of the playground.

The award was presented at the NJRPA conference in Atlantic City to Essex County Executive, Joseph N. DiVinceno, Jr. “I am so proud of our Parks Department for the statewide recognition they received from the NJRPA.” DiVincenzo said. “Our South Mountain Recreation Complex has evolved over the years and, with the addition of each new attraction, has grown in popularity and success.”

Keith Davis, Sales Representative for MRC and GameTime, worked with Essex County officials to create an imaginative playscape that captured the attention of children and families throughout the state. “Projects like these are so important for the community. They bring families together and reconnect children with the outdoors,” said Mr. Davis. “We were excited to help design this amazing, imaginative playground and congratulate the Essex County Parks System on this award!”
