GameTime Brings Education and Funding to Utah Parks Agencies

Expanding Play Across Utah

GameTime, Utah Recreation and Parks Association (URPA), PlayCore and Great Western Recreation have joined forces to bring an exciting statewide initiative to the state of Utah. The program is sponsored by URPA and begins with educational workshops for parks professionals, landscape architects and educators in which master trainers discuss best practices in the areas of nature-based play, outdoor physical activity for children and adults, and inclusive playground design. Each workshop, presented by PlayCore and hosted by Great Western Recreation, includes hands-on interactive sessions, classroom lectures and measureable learning objectives. The sessions also include information on how attendees can apply for funding from GameTime to put research into action and build new play and recreation spaces for their communities - spaces that align with the best practices learned in the workshops.

The first two workshops for the Utah statewide initiative are scheduled for February 26 and 27, 2019 in North Salt Lake and Provo, respectively. Registration is free, but space is limited. Lunch is provided and CEU hours are awarded.
